Harmony was interviewed by Amuse this week while in London, and was asked about The Trap.
Below is what he had to say.

I heard about your movie The Trap (about an ex-con seeking revenge against a gangsta rapper, starring Benicio Del Toro, Robert Pattinson and Al Pacino) at Cannes last year – what’s going on with it?

We were supposed to shoot it last year but we had issues with one of the actors, so we were meant to start shooting it this May but I have a tendency...

As MadRiver announced at Cannes they are co-financing/producing The Trap it was also announced that shooting won't begin until early 2016.
I guess with an ensemble of some of Hollywoods biggest stars the logistics of getting all the actors together is proving a little difficult.
Fingers crossed we don't get anymore delays to what will be an excellent movie.

We were already quite familiar with James Franco’s stranger sensibilities before he signed on to Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers, but the haunting 2013 picture did render the likes of its other stars, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, in a light not only yet surprising but also thought more or less impossible. The sort of light that may well drape the likes of Idris Elba, Al Pacino, and Robert Pattinson in Korine’s movie, The Trap.

Granted, Elba, Pacino, and Pattinson are not products of the Disney Channel iconography like Gomez and Hudgens...

Harmony Korine is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, author and occasional actor. He is best known for writing Kids and for writing and directing Spring Breakers, Gummo, Julien Donkey-Boy and Mister Lonely.

Focus Features is in final talks to to prebuy U.S. rights to Harmony Korine's The Trap, a revenge tale set against the backdrop of the Miami music scene starring Idris Elba as a gangster rap artist and Benicio Del Toro as his best friend who took the fall for a robbery the duo committed years earlier.

Elba is attached to replace Jamie Foxx, with Al Pacino, Robert Pattinson and James Franco also in final talks to join the cast (Del Toro was announced last year).
